Skills & Attributes As the anchor of the Offensive Line Jess proved his worth by being named to the All-Pacifc Coast League Team, for the 2nd yr. in a row. Jess has also been the mainstay of the interior line for the past two seasons and has been selected "Lineman of the Year," in 02 & 03. Jess was a key ingredient, as one of only five seniors, who helped guide Tesoro into the '03 CIF Semi-Finals. Coach Diehl has high regards for Jess and said "Jess cannot be replaced. It will be difficult to fill his shoes." Jess has been working hard in the off-season as he is going through weekly strength and agility training during his own free time. Certainly a great indication that Jess is serious about gaining a competitive edge when it comes to game time. It has been said that "Jess leads by example both on and off the field; he is a real leader amongest the lineman; he is very coachable and willing to do what ever it takes to get better; and, Jess has high moral standards for himself and his teammates. In short, Jess is a young man that you can always rely on!" Jess has the tools that a college coach looks for in a prospect. He is academically sound; he has a phenomenal amount or work ethic; and he has the type of maturity and leadership skills that will allow him to adapt easily to any situation. Jess understands the importance of attaining his college degree, and he is totally focused on achieving that goal. 1
