Skills & Attributes Josh Holmes as a lineman prospect is the "Complete Package." He has strength and quickness that work together to give him an overwhelming presence on offense and defense. He possesses very sound fundamentals and uses excellent technique. He is a strong drive blocker who can also pull and trap with equal effectiveness. Because of his quick feet, Josh is also a very effective pass blocker. On defense, his sideline to sideline mobility, combined with his ability to see the field means he is always around the ball. To top it off, he's a hitter too! Josh's talents were recognized early, he was brought up to varsity in his Freshmen year. His coachable attitude and 110% work ethic makes him the type of player you would desire on your team. His coach has said of him, "Every coach wants a Josh Holmes on his team - he's a winner. Mature beyond his years, Josh has played against 4 All-American Candidates and absolutely blew them off the ball." A team leader and team player Josh is willing to do whatever it takes to help his team win. To improve his game, Josh spends time reviewing game tapes and long hours in the weight room. Josh also realizes the importance of attaining a college education and is totally committed to accomplishing this goal.
